La Puissance [The Power]
Force, cogency, vulnerability, strength, potency. We asked some of the artists from our exhibition with The Fin Collection what 'The Power' means to them.
Artwork from the exhibition is still available to purchase here.
Jaffa: A Seedless Fruit (2017) "Every woman has the power to embrace, reclaim and redefine their sexuality, societal functionalities and bodies. It is a task we might take on at one point in our lives as woman. It is important both as a collective and individual to do this in order for us to progress further in our wider community and throughout the World. If she is struggling to find the strength, we will be there to help her." – Madbutt
Femme Fatale (2017) "The power means to be vulnerable but at the same time strong. To show all your layers and pieces as medals to be proud of. That there is strength and power in experience, in being able to drop your mask while still protecting. Power is emotion, growth, and honouring yourself." - Dina Broadhurst
